Consumption

The fire 

I can feel it

Starting in my 

Fingertips 

And spread through

My chest

Until the whole of me

Is burning 

From the inside out

Now kiss me 

And make it an

Inferno

Warmth of the soul, don’t complain

When you stand in shade. 

The Tattooed Skull

The torrent 

Slicing from above

Water turning to ice

The shards 

Shredding my skin

Peeling flesh from bone

Until I finally recognize 

What I know

I’ve been all along 

A hollow thing

Tossed aside

Waiting for a 

Regeneration 

That won’t come 

The First Full Moon

I felt the cry from

The broken wolf as she leaned 

To nuzzle the moon.

The freckles 

Painted across his

Shoulders 

Create an entire

Galaxy 

And I listen to

Him smile

As my fingers dance

Between his constellations 

Accepting My Death

He shines 

Like the sun

That smile

Bright 

Brilliant 

Exploding through his eyes

To bathe me in his warmth

And yet when 

His gaze turns

It’s cold

My sun becomes

Just another far-flung star 

And I’m left

Hollow 

Shivering

I can feel the blood slowing 

And freezing me from inside

Convinced it’s the last of me

Ready to let go

Until he wraps me in his arms

To thaw me out

One more time

And I notice

Another crack

That wasn’t there before 

More and more 

Splintered

Ugly

Deformed

Unwanted

Discarded 

No one wants 

The leftover 

Shards

Of what used to be
